Thank you for joining our community! This project was inspired by my passion and dedication to fighting social injustices that have and continue to occur in our society. On this forum, community members will access information, articles and documentaries that address a broad spectrum of issues like racism, classism, addiction, mass incarceration, poverty, political oppression and much more. Although we are living in the age of information and technology, some of the resources found here are extremely difficult to access, made available only through university systems or for purchase at exorbitant prices. The difficulty to access information by those communities who are effected most was a huge inspiration for starting this site. PuebloPalante.org is not a profit-making or marketing venture. It is not a place that shares my opinions, but rather confirms the opinions that I, and many others, have had and tried to bring light to for decades. PuebloPalante.org is not a means to an end, but rather the beginnings for a cause.
Many of the documentaries found here were created and filmed decades ago - yet, the information, statistics and outcomes given are similar or have gotten worse. The faces, phrases and memes of these social injustices have changed overtime, but the issues themselves remain completely unfazed.
The mission of PuebloPalante.org is to educate, inform and inspire people of all ages, races, colors and creeds to acknowledge, learn about and find ways to get involved in social justice issues. As the site continues to develop and grow, my vision is to inspire conversations in-person and online about how this information is still as relevant and pertinent in all of our lives today. This vision will come into fruition by the addition of study guides, video introductions and most importantly, interactive and live conversations facilitated between all community members.
